(CPV) – An art exhibition titled “Honour Commander-in-chief Vo Nguyen Giap” on the occasion of the 100th day after his death will be held at the Exhibition House, 45 Trang Tien street, Hanoi.
The exhibition will be held by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Vietnam Craft Village Association, Quang Binh Association of fellow-countrymen in Hanoi and the Vietnamese Culture Development Joint Stock Company.
Vo Nguyen Giap was the first General of the Vietnam People’s Army and a highly talented Commander-in-Chief. Vo Nguyen Giap is the most outstanding military leader beside President Ho Chi Minh. He became a general when he was 37. He commanded a series of important campaigns during the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the US imperialists, including the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954.
The exhibition will showcase 103 black and white, and colour photos chosen from thousands of photos. Photos depict General Vo Nguyen Giap with President Ho Chi Minh and leaders of the State, comrades on the battlefields; General Vo Nguyen Giap with soldiers and civil defences on the fronts. In particular, the exhibition will also showcase a number of photos reflecting people’s sentiments towards the General in his funeral service.
At the exhibition, fine art works on General Vo Nguyen Giap will be displayed, such as a bronze statue of the Commander-in-chief, General Vo Nguyen Giap by artisan Tran Tuy; Chu Dau ceramic vasehaving General Vo Nguyen Giap’s autograph and a number of paintings of the General’s portrait by many famous painters./.
