Vietnam is poised to step up its battle against corruption with several programs of its own and through strengthened cooperation with other countries, a senior government official said. Vu Pham Quyet Thang, deputy head of the government’s Inspectorate, told an anti-corruption conference in Hanoi Thursday that this year Vietnam would implement a project to set up an effective communication channel between the government and businesses to fight corruption and ensure transparency. The project will be sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) bloc which also helped the Inspectorate organize the conference. (more…)
