Police in southern Viet Nam are investigating the death of a Belgian football player who was found in his bed with stab wounds in the chest on April 5, 2006. The 26-year-old Belgian player of Ugandan origin, Ulinzwenimana Vedaste, had come to try out for the Dong Nai Football Club in the southern province of Dong Nai. A knife and his hand phone were found in the same room. He died shortly after being taken to a hospital. Club coach Thai Son said the player from Belgium arrived at the club on April 1 and began his probationary period two days later. During the afternoon training session on April 5, he was tired and stopped the session earlier. Then he took a rest. Coach Son said when he left the field, he was talking to others as usual. His Vietnamese roommate Nguyen Canh Nam also talked to him. At about 4:15 pm, Nam and his Jamaican teammate Nicolas came to check on Vedaste at his room, only to find him in his bed with stab wounds.
