The most important event in the Romanian real estate market in 2018 was the EUR 200 million deal between Forte Partners and Dedeman for office project The Bridge – and, significantly, it was made between local players. By Razvan Zamfir Not only was it the most valuable in the history of the Romanian market, but the deal notably involved two Romanian companies. “This transaction marks a milestone for the local real estate market, but also for the Romanian economy. We have shown that a Romanian developer can compete with the big international groups on a very dynamic market and can close large transactions. We thank Dedeman for choosing to take the first step on this market segment with The Bridge project,” said Geo Margescu, CEO and co-founder of Forte Partners. Dedeman was previously involved in a failed transaction. The firm attempted to take over AFI Park office, close to AFI Cotroceni mall, but the almost EUR 150 million deal fell through at the last minute.
