Sometimes dead is better, which tends to be exactly how SXSW attendees feel by day seven of the Austin film and music festival. That makes this year's closing night selection even more appropriate, as SXSW has officially cemented Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kölsch's Pet Sematary remake as the sendoff to its 2019 film festival. As previously announced, the fest will open with Jordan Peele's Us , bookending seven (or 700, who can count by then?) days of cinematic madness with psychological terror.
