Name: Tanuj Khattar
Age: 21 years
Highest weight recorded: 113 kgs
Weight loss: 33 kgs
Current weight: 80 kgs
Duration it took me to lose weight: 18 months
The turning point: Being overweight was undoubtedly one of the toughest periods of my life. People had started bullying me, calling me names, passing comments and body shaming me. My self-confidence levels had taken a beating and I realised that it was time to do something to break this cycle. I wanted to get fit and inspire others to lose weight as well.
My Breakfast: For my first meal of the day, I have two bananas with 500 ml of raw, double-toned milk. I also have a portion of dalia, oats or poha between lunch and breakfast.
My Lunch: I eat two cheese sandwiches and some fruits after an hour of eating my lunch
Pre-workout meal: I have oats an hour before working out
Post-workout meal: 10 boiled egg whites
My Dinner: 250 grams chicken breast with a small portion of rice
My Workout: I make it a point to work out for 6 days a week. So, every morning I hit the gym to exercise.
Fitness secrets I unveiled: Contrary to popular opinions, your diet has a much bigger role than your workout in your weight loss quest. So, I strongly recommend people to watch what they are eating first and start eating clean.
How do I stay motivated? I have reached a point where working out has become a habit for me. I cannot go a day without working out, so it acts as motivation for me.
How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? When you start loving your fitness level and body shape, you can’t imagine going back to how you were before. That is how I stay focused.
What shape do you see yourself to years down the line? I want to keep working on my body and wish to give major #bodygoals to everyone even as I grow old.
What are the lifestyle changes you made? The day I decided to lose weight and get healthy, I completely stopped eating junk food. I stuck to clean eating throughout my weight loss journey.
What was the lowest point for you? I was not seeing any concrete results even after 4-5 months of joining the gym. It really affected my self-esteem and confidence levels. However, I promised myself that I will not stop working out and one day I will definitely inspire people with my journey.
Lessons learnt from weight loss: I have realised the almost nothing is impossible if you are dedicated and disciplined. Also, being fit gives you a new kind of confidence and energy which helps you face the world boldly.
