NBA fans may be arguing about who is the greatest between LeBron James and Michael Jordan for eternity, but the iconic players joined forces to set a record this week. A one-of-a-kind basketball trading card, which features a NBA logo patch from jerseys worn in a game by James and Jordan, sold for $900,000 in private sale this week, Goldin Auctions told TMZ. Goldin Auctions’ Ken Goldin said the selling price is the highest ever for any basketball card or modern card. The $900,000 price tag exceeded the previous record sale paid for a 1969-1970 Lew Alcindor card made by Topps. The Alcindor card was sold for just north of $500,000. Jordan, who won six NBA Finals with the Chicago Bulls during his career, will see the NBA All-Star Game return to the arena he made famous as a player. The United Center in Chicago will be home to the major 2020 All-Star weekend festivities. The weekend will conclude with the All-Star Game on Sunday. James is the captain of “Team LeBron,” which will be opposed by “Team Giannis” and reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
