A government minister has written a moving tribute to his newborn twin sons who have died in hospital. Guy Opperman, 55, the Tory MP for Hexham, Northumberland, said he and his 35-year-old wife Flora’s boys, Teddy and Rafe, died last week. Mr Opperman, who survived a brain tumour in 2011, said Teddy ‘came and went from this world quickly and quietly’ on June 20, while Rafe was born on June 23 and passed away later that day. Flora revealed on a Just Giving page the twins died from preterm premature rupture of the membranes (PPROM), a pregnancy complication.
