Not since World War II has a single phenomenon dominated the news worldwide as the COVID-19 pandemic has in 2020. However, there were several major events that took place in India and around the globe in 2020. In India, the foundation stone was laid for the Ayodhya Ram Temple, several elections were conducted and many protests held. In the United States, a tumultuous presidential election and a wave of protests over racial injustice also drew relentless coverage.
