A new floating sauna offers up a pretty incredible pampering experience; the chance to relax while also taking in views of the Northern Lights. The new Tromsø Sauna in Norway has opened to the public and, unsurprisingly, it’s already proving a hit with locals. After all, as well as the amazing views of the Aurora to be had, the sauna is located right on the serene Arctic waters in the region. (For the braver souls, there’s an outdoor terrace from which you can get into the waters and take a dip!). Kebony, the company that provided the sustainable wood for the project, has given us a taste of what’s on offer by sharing new images of the sauna, showing off the impressive structure and the picturesque views to be had. Used for the external cladding, decking, roof and ocean terrace, the wood used will also develop a ‘silver-grey patina’ over time, in the hope that it will create a “weathered aesthetic”. Tromso is one of the best Northern Lights viewing spots in Norway and on dark winter nights, it delivers as the Aurora Borealis makes an appearance.
