STUFF The Restaurant Association’s annual report shows eateries were struck hard by Covid-19 but are slowly recovering. A new bar and restaurant on the former site of Covid-19 casualty The Bresolin will offer patrons a different twist on a Wellington classic, its owners say. After operating The Bresolin for 14 years, brothers Lorenzo and Leonardo Bresolin, sons of local restaurant legend, Il Casino owner Remiro Bresolin, were heartbroken when they were forced to shut up shop for good when the city came out of lockdown . The Yu Group, which owns several eateries, including Wellington hospitality landmark Cafe Astoria, purchased the property in August. Executive chef James Pask described the company’s latest venture Cinderella, which opened on Thursday at the top of Willis St, as a "little sister" for fine-dining restaurant Atlas : "Same people, just a lot more casual, we're going to have a bit more of bar vibe going on”.
