England lost Jonny Bairstow and Stokes in the session after both batsmen looked settled at the crease. Post the lunch break, India decided to start with R Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj. The latter struck in the fourth over of the session when he pinged Bairstow in front with a delivery that came in and beat the batsman for pace. Bairstow did go for the review but replays confirmed the ball was clipping the top of the stumps. Stokes, who had hit the second ball he had faced Ashwin for a six, took the watchful approach against the off-spinner and tried to trust his defence.
