Representatives of many airlines, airport operators, and international travel agencies on Sunday joined a forum entitled ‘Da Nang – Asia's Potential Destination’ to gain insights into investment and cooperation opportunities in Da Nang. This is part of the ongoing Asian route development forum 2022 (Routes Asia 2022) in the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang from June 4 to 8. Tran Phuoc Son, deputy chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, said the event marks an important milestone when Vietnam is taking a host of measures to spur its socioeconomic activities after a long hiatus induced by the coronavirus crisis. Son said the tourism sector of Da Nang has staged a relatively good recovery thanks to the city's efforts taken in the first half of 2022. The city has reconnected six carriers and resumed four direct routes between Da Nang and Singapore, Bangkok in Thailand, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and Incheon in South Korea.
