Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing industries and is making a significant impact in fields such as healthcare, finance, media, and transportation among many others. It has been helpful in automation, improved decision making, personalization and innovation (including that for self-driving cars, language processing, healthcare diagnostics and speech/facial recognition). As advanced AI systems like ChatGPT, DeepMind Sparrow, and others continue to develop, it is certain that AI will eventually become an integral part of our everyday lives. However, just like any technology, it is easy to misuse. With 'Cybercrime-As-a-Service' models gaining prominence, the use of AI in enhancing cyberattacks is increasing. Here we have some examples of how malicious actors can use / are already using AI to automate and strengthen cyberattacks : Sophisticated email phishing, business email compromise and fund diversion attacks: Phishing is a type of cyber-attack in which a malicious actor sends an email that appears to be from a legitimate source, with a goal of tricking the recipient into revealing sensitive information or clicking on a malicious link for gaining unauthorized access/data.
