A woman was critically injured after being hit by a New Jersey Transit bus Thursday morning in Orange, authorities said.The woman was hit by a No. 21 bus near the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Main Street as it pulled away from a stop around 11:15 a.m., Orange police and NJ Transit said Friday. Two drivers were injured when a car struck a New Jersey Transit bus from behind Thursday morning in Livingston. The No. 73 bus was traveling along South Orange Avenue near the Livingston Mall in Livingston when the “fender-bender” crash took place, a New Jersey Transit spokeswoman said. The bus driver and the driver of the car were hospitalized with injuries not considered life threatening following the 10:37 a.m. crash near the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway, Livingston police Sgt. Police have arrested a Union County man accused in an attack and robbery of a pregnant New Jersey Transit bus driver last month that led to the woman to be hospitalized, authorities said Friday . Andre Dawson III, 39, of Union Township, is being held at Union County jail on charges of second-degree robbery, third-degree assault on a bus operator, and third-degree assault. His detention hearing is scheduled for Feb. 20.Elizabeth police officers were called to North Broad Street and Westfield Avenue at 4:35 p.m. on Jan. 28 and found the driver with bumps, cuts and bruises. She had been robbed of her cell phone. One person was killed and four injured when a New Jersey Transit bus and a car collided on South Orange Avenue in Livingston on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. The No. 70 bus was traveling to Newark Penn Station from the Livingston Mall when it collided with a car around 1:15 p.m., according to a New Jersey Transit spokeswoman. The spokeswoman referred other questions to Livingston police. Livingston police confirmed they are investigating a fatal crash but declined to provide additional information. South Orange Avenue is closed between Walnut Street and JFK Parkway, Livingston police said. Four passengers and the driver were aboard the bus. No one was injured Monday morning when a New Jersey Transit bus entering the Port Authority bus terminal struck a concrete barrier and ended up propped on top of it.The No. 139 bus was on the ramp into the bus terminal at 6:19 a.m. when the crash took place, New Jersey Transit spokesman Jim Smith said.The door to the bus “became elevated on the barrier,” Smith said.
