Vietnam beach town suspends sea-encroaching tourism project
In a decision signed Monday, the province's acting Chairman Nguyen Thanh Long tasked the provincial Department of Construction with requesting the project's investor to suspend construction works on the seaside, and to immediately cease embankment construction and land reclamation activities until further notice. The department has also been instructed to work with the investor, Vung Tau Cable Car Tourism JSC, to review the project's legal documents, its impact on the surrounding area and on the tourism environment. The sub-project to build the Hon Nguu cable car station and aquarium complex on Vung Tau's Bai Truoc (Front Beach) beach area is part of the company's Ho May Park tourism, cultural, entertainment and resort project. Godrej Fund Management to invest Rs 700 crore in Century’s commercial project
BENGALURU: Godrej Fund management (GFM), the real estate private equity arm of the Godrej Group has entered into a strategic partnership with the Century Group of Bengaluru to develop a commercial asset in a deal valued around Rs 700 crore. The proposed investment will be in a commercial project in north Bengaluru spread over 10 acres with a development potential of 2-3 mn sft. “The deal is in the final stage of closure and will mark GFM’s foray in the commercial market in Bengaluru,” said a person aware of the deal. Bangalore continued to be a dominant city in overall office leasing in the country, primarily driven by tech companies, followed by flexible space operators and engineering & manufacturing firms. No Reservation for Poor Minority Students in Minority Educational Institutions, Says Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi
New Delhi: There is no provision for reservation for poor students of minority communities in minority educational institutions but there are schemes to educationally empower them, Union Minorities Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said in Rajya Sabha on Monday. Students belonging to economically weaker sections with income eligibility criteria ranging from Rs one lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh per annum depending on schemes are eligible, he said during Question Hour. "There is no provision for reservation for poor students of minority communities in minority educational institutes. Former deputy PM implicated in steel company project violations
The party committee of the Vietnam Steel Corporation (VNSTEEL) was irresponsible and lacked supervision in its leadership, which led to the firm committing serious violations in a project to expand production by the Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company or TISCO (the TISCO II project). The violations caused "very serious consequences" and "seriously damaged the financial position and properties of the state," the Party Central Inspection Committee said Monday. The state currently owns nearly 94 percent of VNSTEEL, while VNSTEEL holds a 65 percent stake in TISCO.
