Advice for a 20 year old
Published 5 March Share close Share page Copy link About sharing Women in their early 20s are still being told to "get pregnant" as a way of treating the debilitating gynaecological condition endometriosis. Experts have criticised GPs for lack of understanding of the disease which affects one in 10 women. They are calling for more research and awareness for the condition that has few treatments and no cure. The shocking advice was given to 22-year-old Glasgow journalist Sophie Buchan last year. She told the BBC Radio's Good Morning Scotland programme she was shocked. "Last year I had a really bad flare-up," she said. "I was just in pain, I couldn't move. So I went to my GP and he told me to get pregnant. I was 21. "He just said that a lot of women tend to find that their symptoms are better after they get pregnant. Muhammad Ali’s grandson, Nico Ali Walsh, has stated that he hid his true identity for years because “being Muhammad Ali’s grandson is a blessing and a curse.” Ali Walsh, who is just 20 years old, recently signed a multi-fight deal with Bob Arum’s Top Rank. Thursday NORTHAMPTON is a place famous for footwear rather than lawnmowers. Which is why the county team is supported by Doctor Martens and groundsmen who like meadows. Well, wouldn't you if you had Curtly Ambrose in your side? Funnily enough, the giant West Indian, who took up cricket only 10 years ago, does not enjoy operating on such surfaces, and found it hard motivating himself at times against Durham. He even apologised to a couple of batsmen when deliveries reared from a length and rammed the knuckles against the bat handle. You have to marvel at his wonderful rhythm and skill - he is so athletic he looks like an ordinary mortal on stilts - not for nothing is he known as King Curt. Quite apart from being the undisputed champion fast bowler in world cricket, he now dominates the dressing-room with good-natured banter, a remarkable transformation from the silent soul who never ventured out of his headphonic world of Soca during his first year with … [Read more...] about Cricketer’s Diary: At the court of King Curt

Speaking to The Independent , the Labour leader said the prime minister was “letting the country down” with his inaction on climate change, less than 100 days before he is due to host the United Nations Cop26 global warming summit in Glasgow. Both the PM and Mr Starmer are on day trips to Scotland. Johnson is in the northeast and visits a renewables project, while the Labour leader is heading to a wind farm near Glasgow, with his Scottish counterpart Anas Sarwar. Elsewhere, Dominic Cummings has claimed he was offered seat in the House of Lords by the PM.
