Nguyen Do Anh Tuan, 23, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in the US. Continuing what has the makings of a sparkling career, he has just won the excellent conductor award in the Chorus Show " Viet Nam - Dat Nuoc Anh Hung " (Vietnam - The Heroic Country) held by the Ho Chi Minh Youth Federation and Ho Chi Minh City Television. Classical music concert welcomes Christmas
Viet Nam News HCM CITY - The classical music concert Luminous Night will be held at the HCM City Conservatory of Music today to welcome Christmas. The concert will feature leading Vietnamese vocal soloists, including Meritorious Artist and tenor Tạ Minh Tâm, and soprano Phạm Khánh Ngọc, runner-up at the 2016 International Vocal Competition SLO-ASEAN in Singapore. Pianists Phương Hạnh and Phong Lan and flutist Việt Tú will accompany the vocalists during the show. The performance will highlight Saigon Choir, comprising over 50 emerging classical singers and performers, which has earned fame through concerts such as A Broadway Journey, International Voices in collaboration with Yale Alumni Chorus and the opera Carmen. A night for classical music lovers
A concert featuring the masterpieces of Maurice Ravel, Saint-Saens and Albert Roussel conducted by young French talent Jean Deroyer will be held on November 19 at the Opera House (7 Lam Son Square, District 1, HCMC). HCMC classical music lovers will hear "Ma mere I'Oye" by Maurice Ravel and "Le Festin de I'araignee, Op. 17" by Albert Roussel. Artist Ly Giai Hoa will also perform the piano concerto in G minor, Op. 22 by Saint-Saens. Hoa is a piano soloist and head of the HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO). French conductor Deroyer was born in 1979 and enrolled at the Supreme National Conservatory in Paris at the age of fifteen. While at the conservatory, he was awarded first place prizes for conducting, harmony, fuge, counterpoint and analysis. Deroyer also won a conducting competition initiated by Kurt Masur. Third Classical Music Performance in HCMC
A musical performance by young, internationally renowned Vietnamese musicians from around the world will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House and the Youth Cultural House from August 17-20. Since its start in 2005, the Giai Dieu Mua Thu (Melody of Spring) musical performance has gradually expanded its scale with more nightly performances, adding the Youth Cultural House venue in 2006. This year, pianist Nguyen Bich Tra from England, conductor Le Phi Phi of Macedonia, Tran Nhat Minh of Russia, violinists Nguyen Huu Nguyen and Nguyen Huu Khoi Nam of Paris, opera singer Vo Thi Ngoc Tuyen of HCMC, ballet dancer Cao Chi Thanh - who won fourth place at an international ballet competition in Poland in 2005, Nguyen Anh Son, Vu Manh Dung, and Ta Thuy Chi will all perform.
