Ball Launches Howard County Community Organizations Active In DisasterHoward County Executive Calvin Ball today announced a new partnership of local organizations that respond during disasters. The Howard County Community Organizations Active in Disasters or COAD is one of only two in Maryland. This group of faith-based, non-profit and private organizations, along with businesses and educational institutions, will help the county be better prepared and improve coordination of services before, during and after a crisis. "When disaster strikes, recovery requires that groups work together to quickly coordinate various resources that address basic needs, resolve issues timely and rebuild our community," said Ball. Student Art Exhibitions On Display In Howard Community College Galleries
From Howard Community College: December 5, 2019 Student Art Exhibitions On Display In Howard Community College Galleries Now through December 15, 2019, two new student exhibitions will be on display in Howard Community College's (HCC) two galleries, continuing the tradition of bringing compelling and dynamic art to the greater Baltimore region. The Fall 2019 Student Exhibition, which showcases more than 60 pieces of student art curated by the visual arts faculty, is featured in The Rouse Company Gallery, located within the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA). Located in the Richard B. Talkin Family Art Gallery, on the first floor of McCuan Hall, is the Senior Portfolio Exhibition. This exhibition consists of 14 visual art majors who are graduating from the program and showcases a wide variety of media. Community Rallies For Decorated Marine Killed Taking In Fugitive
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Days after a former Marine and current bail bondsman was killed at a Moreno Valley motel as he was attempting to take a wanted fugitive into custody, a GoFundMe account has been started to help raise money to cover funeral expenses for the Lake Elsinore father of five. James Black, 42, was killed on Tuesday when he was trying to apprehend Chad James Green, 41, at a hotel in the 24000 block of Sunnymead Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. About 7 p.m. Tuesday, Black, a supervising agent with Lake Elsinore-based U.S. Fugitive Recovery Service International, located Green at the unnamed motel, with the intent of taking him into custody for apparent bond violations. Green has been described as a career criminal. Randor’s League Of Women Voters – Public Health Survey
From the Township of Radnor: December 5, 2019Randor's League Of Women Voters - Public Health Survey Delaware County is seeking input from the public, health care professionals, and municipal leaders on the public health needs of residents throughout the county. In June, Delaware County Council unanimously voted to hire Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health to evaluate the delivery of health and public health services in Delaware County and provide the County with recommendations on how to enhance and strengthen these services. The study is being done to gain a better understanding of the public health needs of residents, and identify any gaps in the delivery of services. Residents are invited to complete a 10-15 minute online survey on how the County is addressing residents' public health needs. All survey responses will be anonymous. From the Township of Radnor: December 5, 2019 Pennsylvania Department Of Health 2019: Health Advisory Regarding SalmonellaThe Pennsylvania Department of Health is investigating four Salmonella outbreaks at healthcare facilities in southeastern Pennsylvania.• Consider Salmonella for patients experiencing diarrheal symptoms, especially if febrile.• Obtain a stool sample and test for bacterial pathogens.• Report any gastrointestinal outbreaks to local public health authorities or to DOH at 877- PA-HEALTH (877-724-3258). The Pennsylvania Department of Health is investigating four Salmonella outbreaks at healthcare facilities in southeastern Pennsylvania. To date, we have identified 29 case-patients who spent time during their incubation periods in one of four healthcare facilities experiencing outbreaks, which include two hospitals and two long-term care facilities (LTCFs).
