A fine arts exhibition was held at HCM City University of Fine Arts on March 18, drawing the participation of modern RoK and Vietnamese painters. A food exhibition of Kimchi, the most relished food in the RoK, are taking place in the RexHotel on March 20-21. Also the two countries’ traditional costumes, the Hanbok and the ao dai (long dress), will be modeled at a fashion show on March 21. Among the models will be 10 beauty queens who were crowned Ms RoK from 1996 to 2007, along with those from Vietnam. Cultural exchange strengthens ties with Japan
The ninth Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange began in the central city of Hoi An on August 20. The event is jointly organised by the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam (JF), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Hoi An municipal People's Committee. There will be a wide range of activities within the framework of the three-day exchange featuring traditional poetry, dances and dresses of Japan. An exhibition displaying activities of the previous eight programmes and a charitable concert will also take place. The annual Japan-Vietnam Culture Exchange Festival was held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 6 to celebrate 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries and of Japan-ASEAN friendship relation. Young people took part in many activities to learn more about Japanese cultures, such as Japan 's drum, martial arts and traditional cuisine. The Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the City’s Youth Cultural House co organised Japan-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Festival - JAPAN DAY 2013 on October 6. During the festival, Vietnamese young people joined a host of activities to learn more about Japanese culture, such as Japan’s drums, martial arts and traditional food. World-class performances to promote cultural exchange in Hanoi
This month, the capital city of Hanoi will host a number of art activities to promote cultural exchange between Vietnam and other countries, such as Thailand and France. The exhibition will run at the museum at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street until October 7. In addition, famous French and Vietnamese singers and bands including La Grande Sophie, Leila Bounous, electronic rock band Poni Hoax, Thanh Lam, Le Cat Trong Ly, Quang & Minh, and Viet Vo Da House will perform at a special concert titled "OHLÀLÀ" on September 12. At the 4-hour event at Hang Day Stadium, the artists will perform a wide range of music types from electronic and pop to rock and folk.
