Viet Nam News HCM CITY — More than 27,000 female workers have been provided information about sexual and reproductive healthcare and family planning as the result of the Business Partnership Platform (BPP) funded by the Australian government. A dissemination workshop was held today at Pou Yuen Co., Ltd in Tân Tạo Industrial Zone in the city’s Bình Tân District to share the impact and key findings from November 2016 to June 2018. The project’s aims including improving the health and well-being of Pou Chen Group’s predominantly female workforce by enhancing the provision of specialist sexual and reproductive healthcare on-site at its Pou Yuen factory. Nguyễn Trọng Hậu, director of the initiative, said nearly 80,000 workers at the factory have accessed reproductive and family planning information and services through the on-site BlueStar clinic, located inside the factory since 2016. This is stated in the first-ever “National Midwifery Report of Việt Nam” and the report on “Exploring barriers to accessing maternal and family planning services in ethnic minority communities”, which were launched in Hà Nội on Tuesday by the Ministry of Health (MoH), with technical and financial support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFP) in Việt Nam. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has awarded prizes to sketches and posters on population, family and children. In the contest on writing scripts for short dramas with the themes of population, family planning and gender equality and domestic violence, the first prize plus VND 8 million went to Vu Ngoc Hoang. One second prize and VND 4 million and two third prizes, each with VND 2 million were given to Phung Khanh and Nguyen Cong Xinh and Xuan Cung. The first prize and VND 10 million of the panel poster creation contest belonged to Do Nhu Diem and the two second prizes accompanied with VND 5 million were granted to Tran Thi Anh Tuyet and Tran Duy Truc.
