There may be a lot less than meets the eye to social media charges of gender discrimination against the Apple Card and its joint partners, Apple Inc. and Goldman Sachs—charges that went viral this weekend and continue to gain traction. Although the secret nature of credit card algorithms at the heart of the dispute make it impossible to know for sure, experts believe less nefarious factors likely explain why the wives of two tech titans were given far lower credit limits than their husbands—and that the issues involved are not unique to Apple and Goldman Sachs but rather are common throughout the credit card industry. "Gender inequality is a huge issue but it's not clear that is what's at play here," says Taylor Tepper, a credit card analyst with Wirecutter, the product review site. "Too little is known about the particulars of the people involved or the factors Apple and Goldman used in the credit-decision process to draw any conclusion that's not steeped in Twitter … [Read more...] about Apple Card Gender Bias? A new collection from fashion giant H&M has unleashed protests from women’s rights campaigners because it includes the slogan “I love GBV”, the initials of the designer but also a widely used acronym for gender-based violence.H&M said the slogan, emblazoned on hats, a necklace and boxer shorts with a red heart symbolising the word “love”, was an abbreviation of Italian designer Giambattista Valli and any other associations were unintentional. But women’s rights activists demanded the products be withdrawn saying it was “crazy” to continue selling them.“This is not an obscure term. A battle lasting more than a quarter of a century over the Western Wall, the religious site revered by Jews all over the world, has resulted in a historic deal to create a space where men and women are permitted to pray together in equality. FLORENCE, S.C. (CNN/CBS) — Former Vice President Joe Biden was denied communion Sunday at a Catholic church in South Carolina over his support for abortion rights. Father Robert Morey, the pastor at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Florence, told the Florence Morning News that he had denied Biden communion because “any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself or herself outside of Church teaching.” “Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other and the Church. Our actions should reflect that,” Morey said in an email to the newspaper. He said that “as a priest, it is my responsibility to minister to those souls entrusted to my care, and I must do so even in the most difficult situations. I will keep Mr. Biden in my prayers.” Morey did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment on Tuesday. Biden declined to address the matter Tuesday on MSNBC. “I am not going to discuss that.
