MIAMI (AP) — Celebrities including Diplo, Playboi Carti and PnB Rock paid tribute to slain Florida rapper XXXTentacion Hundreds of fans gathered at a posthumous album release party Thursday night to be the first to hear XXXTentacion’s Bad Vibes Forever. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Noah Cyrus and Tory Lanez appear on the album. Some fans camped out for hours to ensure entrance to the party. At midnight, the album played as emotional videos of the slain rapper played on a screen behind the stage. XXXTentacion’s mother stood onstage, hugging family and friends and occasionally dancing to the music. She said she was trying to stay positive. Earlier in the night, Diplo took to the DJ booth as fans lined up for free tattoos and perused an outdoor museum filled with XXXTentacion memorabilia, including three wax statues, family photos and hand-written notes. The car that XXXTentacion was last seen alive in was also on display. The 20-year-old was gunned down while leaving a … [Read more...] about Final album for slain rapper XXXTentacion drops in Miami

3D-printed cocktails, a traffic jam sculpture made of hundreds of tons of sand and more celebrity sightings than a Kardashian Christmas party were all part of over-the-top festivities during the week of Art Basel Miami. Art collector Wayne Boich hosted a lavish dinner at his home Friday night that included Dan Marino, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The after-party crowd, including Floyd Mayweather, Hannah Bronfman, and Alesso, watched a performance by Wyclef Jean, who did a throwback to the Fugees with Ready or Not, and later brought dozens of girls onstage to dance with him before passing the mic to Country Grammar singer Nelly. Rapper 2 Chainz closed out the night. Across town, rapper Travis Scott didn't take the stage until 3.30am at a sold-out performance at 24-hour nightclub E11even. Scott stood on top of the DJ booth tossing dollar bills into the crowd and yelling at partygoers to put away their phones and enjoy the moment. Getty Images The marriage between the Cleveland Browns and receiver Odell Beckham Jr. isn’t going well. The latest proof of that fact comes from Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, who opens a new article with this bombshell: “Odell Beckham Jr.’s exceptional talent has been wasted this season in what multiple sources describe as a dysfunctional Browns offense.” That’s a strong statement, one that immediately invites speculation as to the identity of the unnamed sources — and that starts the clock on Beckham’s next interview with Lil’ Wayne inexplicably sitting next to him. There’s more, from Cabot: “Beckham is floundering on an offense multiple sources consider poorly designed and poorly run. The sources believe it won’t succeed in the future unless changes are made in terms of coaching, scheme or playcalling.” Without speculating on the identity of the unnamed sources, consider this: Cabot explains that receiver … [Read more...] about Odell Beckham’s talent “wasted” in “dysfunctional” Browns’ offense
It works on paper. Combine three star musicians whose names make for an eye-catching acronym and whose varied talents seem to have kept half the charts afloat for the last decade, throw in some psychedelic imagery, then watch those streams roll in. There are moments when this streaming era supergroup hit the mark, as in the doo-wop laced Thunderclouds and glitchily absorbing Angel in Your Eyes. Widescreen pop moment Genius, which kicked off the LSD project last May, still packs a big punch, though perhaps not to such an extent that it warrants two inclusions, one in the form of a perfunctory Lil Wayne remix, on a slim volume of whose 10 tracks seven have already been released. Elsewhere LSD underwhelms, even if you accept that three of the world’s most interesting musicians would always struggle to create something greater than the sum of its parts. It would be unkind to think of this as a total vanity project – it’s clearly intended to sell. Mind you, at least vanity … [Read more...] about Labrinth, Sia and Diplo Present… LSD review – streaming supergroup underwhelm
