On Friday, the German Festival returned to Vietnam after a three-year hiatius. Themed “German experiences in Hanoi,” the two-day festival was held near the Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake in Hanoi. At the launch of the event, German Ambassador to Vietnam Christian Berger said its activities reflect the diverse cooperation between the two countries. There are up to 40 organizations, agencies and companies from Germany attending the event to present their services and products, aside from exhibitions on the relations between Vietnam and Germany, and meetings that gather Vietnamese alumni that return from courses in Germany, he said. The festival, the fifth of its kind, is co-organized by the German Embassy in Vietnam, the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA) and the Goethe Institute. At the press briefing The event aims to introduce organizations from Germany and promote exchanges between Vietnamese and German businesses, contributing to enhancing cultural exchange and expanding cooperation between the two countries in the future. According to the organizing panel, this year’s festival will welcome visitors of all ages, former overseas students in Germany and more. VietNamNet Bridge – Up to four out of five European bands that will take part in the European Music Festival 2010 are Jazz bands. Germany Jazz band Thärichens Tentett The festival is one of the most expected annual music events in Vietnam. The festival will bring colourful concerts to the audience in Hanoi and HCM City from November 26 through December 4. This year, the event is part of cultural activities which mark the 20th relationship between the European Union and Vietnam. Twenty-two artists from five European countries – Belgium, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain – will join the festival. Germany contributes half of the European artists.
