White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki called the accusations of sexual harassment against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo "serious," saying the women should be heard and an independent review should move forward. Cuomo, a Democrat, is facing significant criticism and scrutiny after two former staffers came forward alleging the governor sexually harassed them. Lindsey Boylan, who served as deputy secretary for economic development and a special adviser in the Cuomo administration from 2015 to 2018, first came out publicly with allegations against the governor back in December. Additionally, Charlotte Bennett, a former executive assistant and health policy adviser under Cuomo, came forward in an interview with The New York Times published Saturday with allegations that the governor pushed her to discuss her sex life and asked if she ever had sex with older men. "President Biden has been consistent that he believes every woman should be heard, should be treated with … [Read more...] about WH Press Secretary Calls Cuomo Sexual Harassment Allegations ‘Serious’ and ‘Hard to Read’

Tips on how to set up a comfortable – and stylish – home office space
As the coronavirus forces many of us to work from home, now is the time to consider the strange hybrid space of the home office. We find ourselves jabbing away at our keyboards in strange places, a kind of interior limbo. I have been working from home for 25 years, and I know what I am doing. Here is my advice for what you will really need over the coming unsettling weeks and months. A DEDICATED SPACE You may not have room at home for a separate office but, if it can be done, make it a priority. It will feel temporary and uncomfortable, a domestic exile. If you are short of space, try to reimagine a part of the living area as a temporary office – one end of the sofa or a dining table, for example. It is better to be in a decent room with natural light than an ad-hoc corner beside the vacuum cleaner. … [Read more...] about Tips on how to set up a comfortable – and stylish – home office space
The watchdogs overseeing the US$2.3 trillion US bailout
WASHINGTON: Who's watching over the US government's largest bailout in history: the US$2.3 trillion in fiscal stimulus to fight the economic impact of the coronavirus? Four different watchdogs made up of federal government officials and members of Congress have been created; one key role has not yet been filled. Instead, the watchdogs' role is to examine the decision-making process, and provide the public information about where the taxpayer dollars and other resources go. Similar oversight mechanisms were "pretty effective and did a pretty good job of keeping fraud and waste down" during the stimulus spending after the 2008 recession, said Jennifer Ahearn, policy director at Citizens for Responsibility and … [Read more...] about The watchdogs overseeing the US$2.3 trillion US bailout

Throughout the country, some 91 per cent of frontline healthcare workers have taken the coronavirus vaccine. However, in London, only 76 per cent have taken the jab, despite all staff members being offered one, the Sunday Times reported . Accross the city, over 41,000 frontline healthcare workers have not been vaccinated, while nationwide, over 200,000 frontline healthcare workers and care home staff members have not been inoculated against the Chinese virus. The joint chief nurse for the NHS in London, Martin Machray, said that NHS London will be translating videos about the coronavirus vaccine into commonly spoken languages in the capital besides English, in order to combat supposed misinformation spreading among specific groups. “Vaccinating staff is critical to the safe running of health and … [Read more...] about Quarter of London NHS Staff Have Refused to Take Coronavirus Vaccines
