EMMERDALE fans are convinced vicar Charles murdered Ethan’s mum. The lawyer - who is played by actor Emile John in the ITV soap - hasn’t seen his mum since he was a small child. Tonight he decided he was going to find her - and asked Victoria and Luke for their help. “I don’t know her, I can’t even picture her - dad got rid of all the photos,” he said. “It’s not the first time I’ve wondered about looking for her. “I start to think about her to try to work out why she left - if it was me, if it was dad, if it was something else - I have no idea.” Asked about whether his dad would help, Ethan admitted he wouldn’t previously. LINE of Duty star Vicky McClure once auditioned for Emmerdale - and she looks worlds away from Kate Fleming. The actress - who plays the corruption-hunting cop in the BBC crime drama - had a screentest for the ITV soap, it has been revealed. Host of Soap From the Box podcast Lee Salisbury directed the award-winning star's audition and posted a screenshot of it online. However it's not known which role Vicky auditioned for but she has previously spoken about her admiration for soap actors. Vicky previously said: “I have so much respect for soap actors I really do for to sustain a character for that period of time, to learn dialogue like that. “You can go into work one day and there’s been a murder, and then all of a sudden there’s a massive explosion, and then the next day you’re having a baby. “Your head must be fried. Violence has once again escalated in the cities of Goma, Beni and Butembo in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo). A group of young people destroyed houses and shops and torched car tires to show their anger with the United Nations' (UN) blue helmets, who are part of the ongoing MONUSCO peacekeeping mission, alongside the Congolese army and the police. The combined security forces appear to have proved incapable of protecting the population from marauding gangs and militias in the region. In the past few weeks, rebel attacks have risen sharply. According to the UN, the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), affiliated with the so-called Islamic State, have killed more than 200 people since the beginning of the year and forced another 40,000 to flee their homes. Harry Styles sent social media into meltdown after images of the One Direction star dressed as Ariel from The Little Mermaid surfaced online. The 27-year-old Watermelon Sugar artist, who reportedly turned down a role in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, donned a striking red wig as he posed for the shots. The photoshoot appears to have taken place in 2019 when he posed as Ariel for Saturday Night Live. In the snaps, that are currently circulating social media, Harry wore a turquoise fishtail and a shell bra as he reclined in a pink velvet chair. He then pulled a series of edgy poses as he toasted with a glass of champagne and gripped a cigarette between his fingers while showing off his tattoos.
