Respected media outlets collaborate with WikiLeaks
PARIS: The diplomatic records exposed on the WikiLeaks website this week reveal not only secret government communications, but also an extraordinary collaboration between some of the world's most respected media outlets and the Wikileaks organization. Unlike earlier disclosures by WikiLeaks of tens of thousands of secret government records, the group is releasing only a trickle of documents at a time from a trove of a quarter-million, and only after considering advice from five news organizations with which it chose to share all of the material. "They are releasing the documents we selected," Le Monde's managing editor, Sylvie Kauffmann, said in an interview at the newspaper's Paris headquarters. WikiLeaks turned over all of the classified State Department cables it obtained to Le Monde, El Pais in Spain, The Guardian in Britain and Der Spiegel in Germany. The Guardian shared the material with the New York Times, and the five news organizations have been working together to … [Read more...] about Respected media outlets collaborate with WikiLeaks
Trump Ally and Brexit Champion Nigel Farage Accused of Handing Data to WIkiLeaks’ Julian Assange
Brexit campaigner and Donald Trump ally Nigel Farage held several meetings with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, a U.S. Congressional committee has heard. The former leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party, whose anti-immigration policies Farage claims inspired Trump, was seen leaving the Ecuadorian embassy in London where Assange resides in March, 2017. Assange has been holed up the embassy for five years, where he took refuge after being sought for questioning on sexual assault allegations by Swedish police. But Glenn Simpson, co-founder of the Washington political research firm behind the notorious Trump-Russia dossier, told the House Intelligence Committee that Farage made "additional trips" to visit Assange, and claimed he "provided data" to the WikiLeaks founder. "I've been told and have not confirmed that Nigel Farage had additional trips to the Ecuadorian embassy than the one that's been in the papers and that he provided data to Julian Assange," said Simpson. … [Read more...] about Trump Ally and Brexit Champion Nigel Farage Accused of Handing Data to WIkiLeaks’ Julian Assange
Dem Operative Says To Ignore Any Evidence Linking DNC Staff To WikiLeaks
A campaign operative warns that if emails are found linking a slain Democratic National Committee (DNC) staffer to the 2016 leak of thousands of the partisan organization’s internal emails, they should be disregarded because they could have been altered. Brad Bauman issued the warning, which rehashes the DNC’s damage control strategy in the aftermath of WikiLeaks publishing more than 44,000 internal committee emails. The leaks showed Donna Brazile, another Democratic campaign operative, tipped off former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about debate questions in advance, among other revelations.Brazile and other Democrats claimed for months the emails were “falsified.” However, Brazile admitted in March 2017 that the emails WikiLeaks published were real, and she called giving the debate question to Clinton a “mistake I will forever regret.” (RELATED: “Here’s Cryptographic Proof That Donna Brazile Is Wrong, WikiLeaks Emails Are … [Read more...] about Dem Operative Says To Ignore Any Evidence Linking DNC Staff To WikiLeaks
